Hi Again!!!!

Hello long lost blog. Oh how I have missed you. Well, the good news is that I am back (to blogging, that is).

So much has happened this year. Where to begin. Well, our biggest news is that we have moved from Maryland to Utah. That was a HUGE move. We love our home and our neighborhood. Reilly loves his new school.

Speaking of Reilly......he was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on Saturday.

I love the opportunity out here to see more of my mom's side of family and friends who might be passing through. We have plans this fall to go to a BYU football game, a BYU basketball game, the play "The Scarlet Pimpernel", etc.

Most of all though, Jeff and I are focusing on the basics. Our basic morning and night routines, cooking and eating at home, being back on weight watchers, working with Reilly's eating, etc.

I decided that I was not ready to start taking piano lessons yet. I do practice everyday. We had our piano tuned and fixed. Some things obviously hadn't been done since it was made (I think it is older than me). We hope to have it refinished this year too as it sustained some injury from the move.

I have not done much in the way of photography. I have missed that too. Moving was a big deal, but it went fairly smoothly. We decided not to sell our home yet and are renting it to some close friends.

I live 30 minutes from my parents and 5 minutes from my brother's family and a cousin. I go over weekly to help my mom in the garden.

The weather here is really lovely. I love the lack of humidity part.

After being away from the west for 20+ years, I was finally able to attend a family reunion on my mom's side. It was fun to introduce Jeff to more family.

I need to get some pictures of our house taken so I can post them. The few we took during our househunting trip are still in raw format and I'll need Jeff's help to get them usable.

I do have several pictures I took at the reunion. My goal with my photography is to take candid portraits. I want them to look like portraits but to catch people's personalities and expressions without having them "pose".

Anyway.....here are some of those.

I do tend to gravitate towards baby's to photograph. Just a bias of mine.

Another purpose for this blog is now to keep in touch with all of the family and friends that we left behind when we moved. We love and miss you all!

I'll blog again when I get some more photos processed.

Until then......

Love,

M

  1. I also had my piano tuned, but it turns out it wasn't the piano, it was the player. Well, as I said before, you can tune a piano but you can't tune a fish

    Glad for you. Enjoy
